NEW ORLEANS — The Los Angeles-based Paramount Citrus/Paramount Farms expo booth at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit 2013 generated some buzz on the show floor, with the company rolling out a number of new products.
Among the new items were Wonderful Halos, an easy-to-peel mandarin set to hit markets in November and a competitor to the Cuties brand.
“Of course, the Halos launch has been a big part of our marketing campaign,” said Dean Miller, national sales manager for Safeway accounts, who joined the company just before the PMA show.
Miller, based in Northern California, previously worked for Pleasanton, Calif.-based Acosta Sales and Marketing and PepsiCo.
Also new under the Wonderful brands:
- an almond holiday gift bag;
- the fifth season of Wonderful Pistachios’ “Get Crackin’” campaign; and
- new flavors of Pom Wonderful 100% juice blends — Pom Hula (including pineapple and organic apple juice), Pom Coconut (including coconut water and pineapple juice) and Pom Mango (including mango and pear juice). All contain the brand’s pomegranate juice.
