Frieda’s Inc. specialty produce cartons’ new graphics highlight the Los Alamitos, Calif.-based company’s 50th anniversary celebration.

The wrap-around design makes use of Frieda’s signature purple and green colors and appears on 5-, 10- and 20-pound cartons in addition to the company’s new Master Pak cases, according to a news release.

The graphics make the Frieda’s cartons easier to find for warehouse, distribution center and store personnel, the release said.

The cartons are manufactured from recycled materials and meet Sustainable Forestry Initiative standards. In addition, a food grade adhesive increases strength and minimizes crushing, according to the release.

The recently unveiled Master Pak cartons hold 50 pounds of produce. Frieda’s Master Pak store service program helps produce managers select the right mix of products on weekly orders to better meet the needs of their shoppers, according to the release.

Founded in 1962 by Frieda Caplan who is now chairwoman of the board, Frieda’s remains family-owned and -operated. One daughter, Karen, is president and chief executive officer; Frieda’s other daughter, Jackie, is vice president.
