Salinas, Calif.-based Ag Against Hunger has named Lynn Figone executive director.

Figone comes to the nonprofit from Marin Agricultural Land Trust, where she worked for the past four years.

She is state president of California Women for Agriculture and is active in its Salinas Valley chapter.

Figone is also a past national secretary of American Agri-Women.

“Lynn’s extensive background in nonprofits, as well as agriculture, makes her a great fit for this role,” Colby Pereira, board president, said in a news release. “Her passion for AAH’s mission will help her grow the reach and depth of this great organization.”

She succeeds Lindsay Coate, who held the role since 2012.

Ag Against Hunger works with growers, shippers and processors in three California counties – Monterey, Santa Cruz and San Benito — to channel surplus fruits and vegetables to food banks and schools.
