A retail display bin touts Avocados from Mexico's upcoming Guac Fiesta promotion.

Retailers have ordered more than 9,000 co-branded display bins in the Avocados from Mexico promotion, “Hungry for Football,” that began in September and runs through Dec. 15.

Avocados from Mexico is readying its next campaign, “Guac Fiesta,” to run Dec. 16 through Feb. 1. That guacamole promotion will be done in partnership with Old El Paso and include signage options plus a new produce bin.

Consumers will get a chance of winning a prize pack to host a Guac Fiesta. The pack includes a $1,000 grocery gift card, a $2,500 gift card for fiesta supplies and a bundle of branded materials. Entries begin Dec. 16 at AvoFan.com.

Ro*Tel, a ConAgra Foods brand, is the partner on the college football effort. In addition to the bins, retailers have ordered about 9,500 promotional pieces. In the first five weeks, more than 92,000 sweepstakes entries were received.

“We were pleased to see the success of the campaign thus far,” Maggie Bezart, vice president of trade and promotions, said in a news release. “It’s clear that guacamole remains a favorite recipe among consumers and avocados are the perfect produce item to pair with all football celebrations.”
