More than 2,300 growers and other industry members are expected to attend the 2012 Southeast Regional Fruit and Vegetable Conference.

Southeast fruit and vegetable conference plannedIn its 14th year, the Jan. 5-8 show at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center in Savannah, Ga., includes more than 85 hours of fruit and vegetable educational sessions and features training in production, pest management and marketing updates for commodities such as vegetables, Vidalia onions, peaches, watermelon, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, pecans, muscadine grapes and olives.

Other sessions cover good agricultural practices, organic production and will feature a business operations educational track to help growers make business choices. Continuing education credits are available, according to a news release.

A trade show has more than 200 companies signed up to exhibit, and the conference includes receptions and an awards program.
