California Giant Berry Farms has launched a blog, The Buzz, that uses permission-based marketing to engage consumers.

The Watsonville-based grower-shipper plans to convert all of its online tools to this marketing approach in 2015.

“Our Buzz blog is a great place for sharing news, recipes, tips, videos and more,” Cindy Jewell, vice president of marketing, said in a news release. “Consumers subscribe to stay up-to-date with the latest happenings at California Giant Berry Farms, and keep coming back for new content. Each time we learn more about their preferences and make sure we are on point to provide information they specifically want.”

Blog content will include promotions and prize-winning opportunities, giveaways, cooking ideas and nutritional and health information. Consumers can also learn about philanthropic events the company participates in and what’s happening on farms.

Guest food bloggers and California Giant staff will supply a continuing stream of posts, recipes, photographs and seasonal information on berries. One recent post looks at Thanksgiving pies and cobblers.
