The Growing Future Leaders program has announced Andrew D’Arrigo as the Growing Future Leaders 2012 award winner.
D’Arrigo will be recognized March 17 at the second annual Growing Future Leaders Agricultural Industry Recognition Dinner at the Hyatt Regency Monterey.
Proceeds from the event will benefit local youth programs through the Monterey Bay Area Council, Boy Scouts of America, according to a news release.
The Salinas, Calif.-based program is spearheaded by a committee of agricultural industry leaders that promotes the values of teamwork, leadership and service to others, which are supported by the Boy Scouts of America program.
Each year, the Growing Future Leaders receives submissions or biographies of local figures in the agriculture business who have given back to the youth in the community. The committee then selects the submission they feel best meets their criteria.
As the name behind Andy Boy produce, D’Arrigo is the chairman of the board for D’Arrigo Bros. Co..
He is being awarded for his contributions to the youth and families in the Salinas area, according to a news release.
