The organic department of Charlie’s Produce, Seattle, reorganized its structure to develop a core team of buyers and sales staff to better market organic products.

The group of organic experts helps lead the company’s organic sales by having a more specialized focus.

“We concentrated our expertise,” said Diane Dempster, who manages the company’s Farmer’s Own program.

Jessica Helm was added as an organic vegetable buyer in January of 2012, and Matt Bill works on sales for the Farmer’s Own program.

The company will continue to provide two farm tours, via bus trip, each year to introduce its customers to the individual growers that supply them produce.

The company also expanded its social media presence by becoming more active on Facebook and Twitter.
