Elk Grove Village, Ill.-based Clear Lam Packaging Inc. has won a WorldStar 2015 Packaging Award in the food category for its PrimaPak Packaging.
The packaging was developed for Fisher Party Peanuts, according to a news release from the company, and the award was given by the World Packaging Organization. WorldStar award winners will be formally recognized at a reception in Milan, Italy, on May 19.
The PrimaPak package is a flexible, stackable and reclosable package produced from rollstock on a custom vertical form-fill-seal machine, according to the release. Lightweight and stackable, the “pop-up” box packaging is designed to replace bulky rigid jars, blow-molded containers, injection-molded packages, composite cans, and select stand-up pouches, according to the release.
“Our company has made a significant investment in the PrimaPak System, including a new co-packing facility and innovation center near Chicago, providing our customers with an end-to-end packaging solution,” Roman Forowycz, chief marketing officer for Clear Lam Packaging, Inc., said in the release.
The facility will produce PrimaPak packaging for test markets, regional rollouts, seasonal items and nationally distributed products, according to the release.
