Former Pres. Bill Clinton will be the keynote speaker at the 2012 Restaurant, Hotel-Motel Show of the National Restaurant Association at Chicago’s McCormick Place.

“President Clinton has a unique perspective on our nation and the world,” Jack Crawford, NRA show chairman and president and chief executive officer of Ground Round Independent Owners Cooperative LLC, Freeport, Me., said in a news release. “Clinton’s insights are sure to be both interesting and entertaining, making his keynote address one of the main attractions at NRA Show 2012.”

Clinton is scheduled to address the show on the second day of the May 5-8 gathering, according to the release.

After leaving the White House, Clinton founded the William J. Clinton Foundation, which among other goals is working to combat the rise in childhood obesity.

The NRA show is expected to attract more than 58,000 attendees and visitors from all 50 states and more than 100 countries, according to the release.
