Two certification and inspection companies are working together to offer CanadaGAP services in the province of Quebec.

Gestion Qualiterra Inc., Upton, Quebec, will provide inspection and auditing personnel so that NSF-GFTC, Guelph, Ontario, can provide its certification services, according to a news release.

“We are proud to partner with an organization like GQ which will extend our service reach and enable us together to help enhance the quality and competitive position of Quebec producers,” NSF-GFTC agriculture director Jackie Bowen said in the release.

More than 1,000 CanadaGAP members have used NSF-GFTC’s services, according to the release. About 2,400 businesses are certified under CanadaGAP, according to the release. The program for fresh produce growers, packers and wholesalers helps them implement food safety programs to meet retailer requirements.
