Copper Penny Marketing, whose clients are fresh produce and food suppliers, has begun a partnership with Sway Group LLC, an agency representing bloggers.
Effective Jan. 1, Sway Group named Erin Petty, who was a marketing specialist at Minnetrista, Minn.-based Golden Sun Marketing for three years, as project and community manager, said Danielle Wiley, Sway principal.
The goal is to connect bloggers with produce brands.
“We’ve been working on this since October at (the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit),” said Melinda Goodman, president of Whitefish Bay, Wis.-based Copper Penny Marketing. “My role is to make introductions in the produce industry and work together to create online and offline experiences that are good for both produce and bloggers.”
“Right now we haven’t put any programs in place,” Goodman said Jan. 16. “We’re building some relationships and talking about the opportunities. Erin and I will work with Danielle to put programs together that are best suited for fresh produce.”
Sway represents 28 of the top 100 mom bloggers, including five in the top 10, as ranked by Babble.com, Wiley said. As she sees it, they’re a fit with fresh produce.
Bloggers love having healthy and real products to talk about,” she said.
Services vary by client.
“Some want to increase Facebook fans or Twitter followers; some want sponsor posts on blogs; some want to meet bloggers,” Wiley said.
“One of the biggest things we’re working on is securing sponsors and promotional opportunities for the FitBloggin’ conference in Baltimore Sept. 20-23,” Goodman said.
