Danaco Solutions LLC plans to offer a one-day local grower food safety training in Portland, Ore., with a focus on fostering business with restaurants.

The Nov. 9 training will be done in partnership with the Chipotle restaurant chain and the Produce Marketing Association, according to a news release.

It’s intended to provide area growers information on food safety and the certifications needed to grow for restaurant chains. Topics covered include foundation programs and how risk assessments are done.

Representatives of Primus Labs, NSF International and the U.S. Department of Agriculture have been invited to speak on best practices and certifications.

Chipotle will discuss its perspective on food safety and its use and support of local growers.

Attendance is limited to 70.

Danaco Solutions is based in Highland Park, Ill.
