Verdant Partners LLC, an agribusiness brokerage and consulting group based in Chaimpaign, Ill., has hired Dawn Gray as advisor.

A produce industry veteran, Gray comes to Verdant Partners with more than 35 years experience in sales and marketing. She most recently worked as senior vice president of sales, marketing and categories for The Oppenheimer Group, Vancouver, British Columbia, before founding her own company, Vancouver-based Dawn Gray Global Consulting.

Before joining Oppenheimer in 2008, Gray was general manager of Auckland, N.Z.-based Enza International, a position she had for a year and a half. Before that she was the executive vice president of sales and marketing for Langley, British Columbia-based BC Hot House Foods Inc. She also has served as president of the Central California Orange Growers Cooperative, Visalia, and has had sales and marketing positions at Issaquah, Wash.-based Vanguard International; The Autenrieth Co., Agoura Hills, Calif.; Frieda’s Inc., Los Alamitos, Calif.; and Sunkist Growers Inc., Sherman Oaks, Calif.

In her new role at Verdant, Gray will use her consulting experience to guide clients’ business strategy and development.
