Organic online retailer Door to Door Organics plans to expand delivery services to Milwaukee in the spring.
According to an early December company release, the Louisville, Colo.-based company is using $25 million in investment financing to expand to new markets in 2015, with Milwaukee being the first.
The company offers customers in 30 markets in 11 states weekly and biweekly organic produce box subscription service options.
The release cited a Packaged Facts October report that showed the online grocery industry projects to grow from about $23 billion this year to $100 billion by 2019, going from 3.5% of all grocery spending to 12% if realized.
“Increasing access to local, natural and organic foods, and in turn supporting local producers in markets like Milwaukee, is core to our corporate mission and strategic growth model,” said Chad Arnold, CEO of Door to Door Organics, in the release.
Door to Door Organics has made more than 1.7 million deliveries since its founding in 2005 and expects to more than 38,000 new customers by end of the year.
