Rosenhayn, N.J.-based F&S Produce Co. Inc. has received SQF 2000 Level 3 food safety certification.

F&S, a specialist in fresh-cut produce and other value-added products, received its first Level 3 certification in 2010, making it an early adopter among produce companies, according to an F&S news release.

“SQF 2000 Level 3 is a global comprehensive food safety and quality management system that is sought after by many U.S. food processors,” Doug Nicoll, F&S’s director of technical services, said in the release. “As a result, we have developed a world-class quality system at F&S, and we are finding that many of our customers are requiring or requesting that we have this program in place.”

Sam Pipitone, F&S’s president and chief executive officer, said the company is proud of its SQF track record.

“It takes a total commitment by all departments on a daily basis to maintain these high standards, and this re-certification is verification of our total company’s commitment to this initiative,” Pipitone said. “Most importantly. this re-certification helps us ensure to all our current and potential customers that they are dealing with an industry leader in food safety.”
