The nation’s largest food retail association has named a new vice president of food safety.
Hilary Thesmar will join the Food Marketing Institute in mid-June, according to a news release from the Arlington, Va.-based association.
Thesmar last worked as senior director of scientific and regulatory affairs for the Washington, D.C.-based National Turkey Federation.
At FMI, Thesmar will supervise all programs related to food safety, food defense and food quality.
Thesmar, a registered dietitian, has a Ph.D in food technology from Clemson University and an MS in human nutrition from Winthrop University.
