The Washington Apple Education Foundation is accepting applications for a pair of accounting scholarships through March 1.

The Stemilt Growers Inc. accounting scholarship is good for $2,500 and an 8- to 10-week internship at the Wenatchee, Wash.-based grower-shipper. Applicants must have ties to northcentral Washington.

Moss Adams LLP has a $500 foundation scholarship honoring retired partner E. Peter Krier for students from the Yakima Valley enrolled in a Washington university.

Both scholarships are for accounting majors entering their junior, senior or fifth years.

Students seeking either scholarship must apply through the foundation website.

Scholarships will be awarded in May.

Currently, 151 college students have foundation scholarships. Awards for the 2011-12 school year totaled about $425,000.
