Ontario greenhouse operator Vine Fresh Produce Ltd. has implemented a 2.3 megawatt Enphase Energy Inc. solar project.

Vaughan, Ontario-based Sentinel Solar managed installation of more than 9,000 Enphase M215 microinverters and Jinko solar modules to Vine Fresh Produce’s existing facility, according to a news release.

The solar array replaces part of the roof of a large greenhouse, leaving the underside of each module exposed underneath. That allows maintenance without requiring rooftop access.

The three-phase commercial system took part in the Canadian province’s Feed-in Tariff program, which encourages investment in renewable energy sources.

“This milestone project is Enphase’s largest announced to date,” Jeff Loebbaka, senior vice president of worldwide sales and field operations, said in the release.

The project uses Enphase microinverters, the Envoy Communications Gateway and Enlighten web-based software.

Enphase has shipped more than 3.7 million microinverters and sells to 11 countries.
