(UPDATED COVERAGE, 1:20 p.m.) Philip Gruszka has resigned from his position as vice president of marketing at Grimmway Enterprises Inc., Bakersfield, Calif., and opened a consulting business.
With more than 25 years of experience in marketing and sales, he created Gruszka Consulting after receiving feedback from colleagues and recognizing a need in the marketplace, according to a news release.
“Once I got into the produce industry, I saw a tremendous opportunity with small to medium companies who wanted to increase their marketing but weren’t sure how to,” Gruszky said. “Now, we can help jump start a company’s marketing and get things moving at a quick pace. The whole goal is to increase consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables, and marketing is only going to help that.”
Prior to his role at Grimmway Enterprises, Gruszka worked in sales and marketing for Anheuser Busch, Ralston Purina and Sara Lee. As the head of Gruszka Consulting, Gruszka will be bringing in other industry professionals to add experience to the firm, according to the release.
