Homegrown Organic Farms has named Craig Morris citrus category manager.

Morris and Seth Tillery, who had the position, will be in a period of transition as Tillery shifts to the role of San Joaquin Valley regional grower and operations manager for the Porterville, Calif.-based produce marketing company, according to a news release.

Morris was most recently director of new business development at Visalia, Calif.-based Pro Citrus Network.

From 1995 on, he spent 15 years at Lindsay, Calif.-based LoBue Bros. Inc., finishing as sales manager. Morris started his career as a buyer-inspector with The Kroger Co., where he spent five years traveling Western growing regions and procuring fruits and vegetables.

“Organic produce is unique in that even in our economy’s weakened state, the demand for fresh, organic fruit continues to grow,” Morris said in the release. “The principles of Homegrown (Organic Farms), and specifically John France and Tom Avinelis, have built a unique culture within the company based on their steadfast foundation of beliefs, values, and stewardship.”

The company represents more than 3,500 acres of organic produce. It was started in 1998.
