Valley Fruit & Produce recently added a marketing director’s position and promoted a longtime employee.

A Valley Fruit & Produce consultant, Jin Ju Wilder, is now the Los Angeles company’s first marketing director, according to a news release. She has 20 years of experience in the produce industry and has been working with Valley Fruit for three years.

“Having Jin Ju as part of the Valley team strengthens our ability to provide our customers with highly customized and strategic solution packages,” chief financial officer Carrie La Londe said in a news release.

“Today, Valley is more than a produce wholesaler. We are responsible for our customers’ produce supply chain needs from the fields to the consumers’ forks.”

Wilder is founder and president Jin Ju Wilder joins Valley Fruit & Produceof Status Gro, which helps businesses with strategic planning.

Before launching Status Gro, Wilder was president of Coast Produce Co., where she led a transformation from a regional produce wholesaler to a supply chain solutions provider on a national level for clients such as Albertsons, SuperValu and Kroger as well as government agencies such as the Defense Commissary Agency and the Defense Logistics Agency.

Rick Paino, a 27-year employee at Valley Fruit & Produce, is now sales manager, according to the release. He will continue as the commodity manager for the company’s apple and pear division as well as coordinating the sales efforts.

Paino has almost 40 years of experience in the fresh produce industry. He started his career in 1974 at Giumarra Bros. Fruit Co.

Paino said in the release that balancing customer needs with fair returns for vendors is a top priority as he moves into the role of sales manager.
