Kingston Fresh expects volumes of its Peruvian mangoes to begin increasing steadily in mid-January.

Light supplies of Peruvian fruit early in the season led Idaho Falls, Idaho-based Kingston Fresh to supplement with mangoes from Ecuador to meet strong demand, Ken Nabal, the company’s president, said in a news release.

“Mango sales remain brisk coming out of the Holidays, and movement has been steady,” he said in the release. “With Ecuador production now finished for the season, we’re increasing our imports from Peru to provide consistent volume through early March.”

Nabal said the overall quality of the first Peruvian arrivals was very good.
