San Antonio-based Food Safety Net Services, a national network of food safety laboratories, named Patricia Wester its vice president of regulatory affairs.

Wester previously was director of food safety systems at Eurofins Scientific and has focused her career on developing global third party certification auditing programs and their use under the Food Safety Modernization Act, according to a news release.

She earned a bachelor of science degree in poultry science from the University of Florida and has served as chair of Food Safety Service Providers, a trade association for accredited third party certification bodies.

She’s also a member of the Global Food Safety Initiative’s Technical Working Group on auditor competencies, and is current International Association for Food Protection vice chair of the Meat & Poultry Professional Development Group.
