Lakeside Organic Gardens recently donated more than $250,000 to charities this year.

According to a news release, the Watsonville, Calif.-based company donated to local organizations committed to improving the community.

“We’ve had a good year this year and in good times we should try to share that with other people in the community who have less, Dick Peixoto, owner, said in a press release.

Donations support a variety of charities in the Watsonville area, including the Salvation Army, Second Harvest Food Bank, Pajaro Valley Loaves & Fishes, Jacob’s Heart Children’s Cancer Support, Teen Kitchen Project, Salinas Circle for Children, California Foundation for Ag in the Classroom, Agri Culture, and the Community Alliance with Family Farmers.
