Expanding its distribution in the Lone Star State, Lipman recently opened a packing and repacking operation in Dallas.

Lipman enlarges southwest presence through Dallas operationThe 150,000-square foot facility consolidates three other locations, according to a news release.

The grower-shipper of tomatoes and other vegetables will use the location to supply customers in New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi, according to the release.

The building includes banana and avocado ripening rooms and Lipman also plans to use it for cross-docking, storage and offices for key personnel, including a customer service center, according to the release.

“This location brings Lipman’s entire Dallas team together — from our drivers to our sales force and office personnel — allowing us to communicate and work more efficiently to fulfill customers’ needs,” Brett Combs, general manager at Lipman’s Dallas facility, said in the release.

The opening of the facility allows Lipman to better accommodate and deliver to retail and wholesale customers, Combs said in the release.

The operation houses more than 140 workers.

Lipman purchased Dallas-based Combs Produce in 2012.
