The National Mango Board has scheduled six more workshops in foreign countries to teach exporters how to improve quality.
Workshops have already been held in Brazil and in Chiapas, Mexico. Future workshops include:
July 25-28 - Colima, Mexico
Aug. 31-Sept. 1 - Ecuador
Sept. 28-29 - Peru
Oct. 5-6 - Haiti
Oct. 28-29 - Mazatlan, Mexico
Nov. 30-Dec. 1 - Guatemala
The workshops will be attended by board staff and 12 researchers from the U.S., Mexico and Brazil. Topics to be discussed will include postharvest best practices and quality control, the effects of cultural practices on fruit quality and irradiation and its effects on quality.
