New Jersey is trying to help young people pursuing agricultural careers through a scholarship program.

New Jersey to honor youth through ag scholarshipThe New Jersey Department of Agriculture plans to honor one student for agricultural achievements by awarding the New Jersey Agricultural Achievement award.

Sponsored by Amy Butewicz, a former New Jersey Equestrian of the Year winner, the scholarship was created as a way of giving back to the agricultural community, according to a news release.

The $500 scholarship is designed to help its recipient start their future in agriculture, according to the release.
