Norwood Marketing Systems, Downers Grove, Ill., has introduced its 53XL printer.
It touts the printer as an economical, high-performance thermal transfer printer in a news release.
It has the largest print area of its 53 family of printers, allowing for more serialized, variable, batch or fixed-text and graphics. It’s capable of printing GS1 barcodes for traceability. It is available off-the-shelf with a 29-inch bracket for 48-hour delivery, and Norwood can customize the bracket for other requirements.
With its standard ethernet connection capability, the printer can be accessed via a plant’s network to remotely change over, monitor and diagnose the print operation.
The printer also has a two-component design, instead of the traditional three, minimizing space requirements.
The release said the printer provides advanced features found on more expensive thermal transfer printers, like high-resolution, printer-resident barcodes and cassette-ribbon loading.
