January is Onion Lovers Month, and the Idaho-Eastern Oregon Onion Committee is marking it with its sixth annual retail display contest.

The Parma, Idaho-based committee has point-of-sale materials including U.S. flags for the All American-themed contest, according to a news release.

The contest, open to retailers nationwide, has cash prizes for retailers that build attention-getting produce section displays promoting Idaho-Eastern Oregon Spanish Sweet Onions that are set up for at least one week in January.

The grand-prize is $1,500. First-, second- and third-place winners receive $1,000, $750 and $500.

Entries are due by Feb. 28.
