The Oppenheimer Group has added to its sales staff by hiring Donald Slot.

Slot will be Oppy’s new Toronto-based sales representive. He will market the company’s products to Eastern Canadian customers, according to a news release.

Slot’s last position was as a key account executive for Westrow Food Group, where he has worked since June 2010. He oversaw the supply chain from procurement to business development for citrus, berries, grapes, stone fruit and tropicals.

“Donald’s skills and experience are a great fit,” Walt Breeden, director of sales for Canada, said in the release. “His knowledge of the inner workings of the imported produce business, as well as his retail relationships, will immediately enhance our service in eastern Canada.”

Slot has also worked in sales and procurement for Global Fresh Import and Export, Inc., and he was a strategic account manager at B.C. Tree Fruits Ltd.
