A San Francisco-based organic produce shipper has launched a new heirloom fingerling potato medley.

Purity.Organic Produce’s Heirloom Blend pack features three organic fingerling potato varieties: Russian banana, ruby crescent and purple Peruvian, according to a company news release.

The creation of the pack builds on Purity.Organic’s continued success with organic fingerlings. Despite increased competition, sales of Purity’s fingerlings have been up as much as 30% at some retailers this season.

Purity.Organic, formerly known as Pacific Organic Produce, sources its organic fingerlings from Cinacia Farm, an organic grower-shipper in Colorado’s San Luis Valley.

In addition to the Russian banana, ruby crescent and purple Peruvian, Purity.Organic markets Austrian crescent, buttercream and French fingerling varieties grown by Cinacia.

Purity.Organic expects to sell more than 110,000 24-pound boxes of organic fingerling potatoes in 2011-12 to retailers including Safeway, Whole Foods, H-E-B, Mothers Market, Vons and Fresh Market.

Product should be available through late March, the release said.
