Donald Gamble, a longtime executive with foodservice wholesaler Pacific Gamble Robinson Co., died Jan. 17. He was 90.

After service in the U.S. Navy in World War II, Gamble earned an MBA from Stanford University before joining Pacific Gamble Robinson, a family business founded in Minneapolis in 1894.

Gamble also served on the board of the Newark, Del.-based Produce Marketing Association.

Pacific Gamble Robinson, which grew to include more than 100 operations in the U.S. and Canada, merged with Miller Cascade in 1986 and was renamed Food Services of America.

Gamble is survived by a daughter, Kim Marriott; two sons, Don and Larry; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
