Pro*Act has a new client services department and new staff members to lead it.

According to a news release, the Monterey, Calif.-based produce distributor promoted Casey Jarrard and hired Russ Wingo as vice presidents of client development, a new department for the produce supply-chain management company.

Wingo comes to Pro*Act from Sysco Corp.’s FreshPoint, where he was vice president of sales. Before, he directed sales and marketing for the Produce Alliance, and served as division vice president of sales at PYA-Monarch.

Jarrard joined the client service sales staff of Pro*Act as director in 2008, focusing on the Eastern region of the company’s national sales accounts. Before Pro*Act, he was director of national accounts for Direct Advantage.

Pro*Act establishes client services departmentIn their new roles, Jarrard and Wingo will focus on the growth of new business opportunities and develop strategic business plans, according to the release.

The newly created department will also work with senior management to increase sales, manage contract negotiations with clients and distributors, and work with procurement specialists.
