About 300 people turned out for the annual Cocktail & Poker benefit event May 6 as the Quebec Produce Marketing Association dealt the cards that raised more than $22,000 for the “I love 5 to 10 servings a day” campaign.

The event at the Metropolitan Golf Club in Montreal provided people from the produce industry with a chance to network with customers and suppliers before the local produce season hits full production mode, according to a news release from QPMA.

The proceeds from the event will be used to further the efforts of the “5 to 10” campaign, which is designed to raise public awareness about healthy eating habits that include plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Winners of the poker portion of the event were Mike Sabbagh, who had the winning hand in the tournament, and Kevin Fishback and Michael Ecker, who took second and third places, respectively.
