Royal Rose LLC has launched a website for its Salads for Adults promotion, which markets radicchio through recipes that feature spirits and wines.

The website,, can be accessed by consumers scanning quick response codes on retail-banded radicchio heads with their smartphones.

The band also displays recipe suggestions and a universal product code, according to a news release from the Salinas, Calif.-based grower-shipper.

The website offers shoppers recipes and how-to videos from chefs. In the future, the company plans to make in-store coupons and cross promotions available online.

Under such slogans as “Must Be 21+” and “Eat Responsibly,” Royal Rose introduced the Salads for Adults marketing campaign in July with recipes using tequila and sangria as ingredients. Since then, additions to the lineup include a vodka radicchio pasta salad by chef Bert Cutino of the Sardine Factory in Monterey, Calif.
