Rainier Fruit Co. plans to ship northwest blueberries well into October.

A cool summer in Washington has extended the season for Selah, Wash.-based Rainier, according to a company news release.

The company’s late-season berries are high-quality and are shipping as far east as Boston and as far north as Toronto, Blake Belknap, Rainier’s blueberry commodity manager, said in the release.

Rainier also is shipping organic blueberries grown on 500 acres.
