Doug Ranno & The Harvesting Crew are set to perform at a Feb. 20 concert in Salinas, Calif., to benefit the Grower-Shipper Association Foundation’s agricultural education efforts, among other causes.

About 250 tickets will be available for $85 each at Eventbrite.com starting the week of Jan. 5. A dinner and wine tasting are included, and a silent auction is planned.

Dubbed “Concert at Corral: Guitars, Old Cars for Salad Bars,” the event is scheduled for 6 p.m. at the Corral de Tierra Country Club theater.

Ranno, former partner in Colorful Harvest, recently launched a consulting business, Doug Ranno Produce. In October he released an album, “The Musical Harvester,” featuring 11 songs he wrote or coauthored.

Susan Marscellas, Grower-Shipper Association Foundation director, anticipated an early sellout of tickets.

“The benefit concert will help us educate the community about the produce industry and how we are bringing healthy food options and salad bars to kids in Monterey County schools,” Marscellas said in a news release.

The silent auction will feature two custom made Musical Harvest guitars donated by Ranno. Proceeds from those will benefit Samz School of Music and Guitars not Guns, two nonprofits.
