A series of symposiums in key growing regions is scheduled by RedLine Solutions to provide information about the Produce Traceability Initiative.
The Santa Clara, Calif., company’s chief executive officer, Todd Baggett, is co-chairman of the PTI Technology Working Group and will discuss why traceability is important and provide updates on regulatory changes during the symposiums, according to a RedLine news release.
The series includes sessions in: Salinas, Calif., April 26; Delano, Calif., May 24; Ellensburg, Wash., June 5; and McAllen, Texas, the week of June 11. More cities are expected to be added to the schedule, which is available on the RedLine website at www.redlineforproduce.com/events.
Other presenters and topics on the symposium agendas include RedLine vice president for strategic services, Gary Fleming, who will discuss the PTI timeline and GS1 standards. He will also discuss best practices for PTI case and pallet labeling.
Chris Davis, RedLine’s chief operations officer, is scheduled to review what is required for PTI compliance and the challenges of implementing PTI in the field and packing shed. Davis will also cover problems encountered during production deployment in a variety of commodities, as well as the solutions to those problems.
