Norm Frewin, a former executive at Randalls Food Markets Inc., died Nov. 2. He was 77.

Frewin retired in 1996 as vice president of produce for Houston-based Randalls, a 129-store chain co-founded by his father, Norman Neville Frewin.

After service in the U.S. Army, Frewin began his 37-year career at Randalls, where he also served on the board of directors.

Frewin’s innovations at Randalls including introducing exotic fruits and vegetables to the Houston market.

Frewin is survived by his wife, Janice; a son, Gregory; two sisters, Joann Dowdall and Rosemary Gambino; a brother, John; and a grandson.
