The Washington Apple Education Foundation will be awarding $850,000 in scholarships this spring. This includes new and renewing scholarships.
The deadline for new applicants to submit an application for a scholarship is March 1. Applicants must have a tie to the tree fruit industry.

In 2014, the foundation awarded $850,000 in scholarships, and it currently assists 188 students. For the 2015-16 school year, The foundation plans to extend scholarships to 200 students, according to a news release.
The scholarships can be used at accredited trade/technical schoolars, two-year and four-year public and private colleges and universities.
The apple foundation started a separate fund this year for students attending a vocational school.
