Andrew Scott, president of the Southeast Produce Council, has been named director of sales and marketing for Coosemans in five cities.
It’s a new position at the Coosemans operations in Tampa, Fla., Miami, Dallas, Cleveland and San Francisco.
Scott, who started Jan. 3, reports to Roy Kane, a partner with Daniel Coosemans in those cities. Kane is also president of Worldwide Produce Direct.
“As Roy grows more businesses, I’m going to help him manage that side of things for Coosemans,” Scott said Jan. 27. “I’ll help him with those five locations, and with the marketing side of it. We’re going to enhance the website.”
Scott comes to Coosemans from Hudsonville, Mich.-based shipper, distributor and repacker Superior Sales Inc., which he joined in September as vice president of sales and marketing. Superior’s addition of J&R Baker Farms, Norman Park, Ga., was a factor in bringing him to the company. He remained based in the South.
“I left on great terms,” he said. “This phenomenal opportunity came along with Roy to grow his businesses. It was an easy decision to make.”
Scott was sales and procurement manager for Forest Park, Ga.-based General Produce Inc. from 2006 to 2013. He was at C.H. Robinson Worldwide Inc. in various roles from 1991 to 2006, finishing as Atlanta produce manager.
