Stunt Tater, the Idaho potato character created by the Idaho Potato Commission, has reached over 10,000 fans on Facebook in less than two years. Stunt Tater’s followers include fans from Dallas, Atlanta, Los Angelos, New York and even Mexico.
The commission created the character to increase online and social media interaction with younger, more technologically advanced audiences, according to a news release. Stunt Tater’s posts aim to entertain followers but also promote potato benefits and give up-to-date information on the industry.
With 90% of his followers under 25 years old and 84% in the 13-17 age range, Stunt Tater will be introducing a new website later this month at www.spudcenter.com.
Stunt Tater was developed by a computer animation team at Boise, Idaho-based DTX Creative.
