Tanimura & Antle plans to sponsor a salad bar and plant-a-pot interactive booth at Yuma Lettuce Days March 1-2.

The event is scheduled for the Quartermaster Depot State Historic Park in Yuma, Ariz. The Salinas, Calif.-based grower-shipper is in its fourth year of supporting the festival.

Tickets for the Toss It Up Salad Bar are $2 and include a take-home package of the company’s Artisan romaine lettuce. Volunteers from the Gila Ridge Future Farmers of America will serve at the salad bar March 1; Yuma Valley Achievers 4-H club, March 2.

The plant-a-pot booth is offered jointly with Western Growers Foundation. There children can plant a seedling to take home. Booth volunteers include parents and students from Yuma schools that have received a school garden grant from the foundation and incorporated a garden curriculum in lesson plans.

“We continue to support education programs with our public, especially children, that teach about the produce supply chain, Caitlin Antle Wilson, sales service manager for Tanimura & Antle, said in a news release.
