The Alliance for Potato Research and Education will host a chat on Twitter to discuss nutrition facts and fads.

Set for 1 p.m. eastern time Oct. 1, the chat features food and nutrition expert Bonnie Taub-Dix, according to a news release from the McLean, Va.-based group.

Taub-Dix will debunk nutrition myths such as “Sugar is toxic,” “Don’t eat after 7 p.m.,” “Avoid all white foods,” “Going gluten free or low glycemic is the best way to lose weight” and “All of the nutrition is in the skin of fruits and veggies,” according to the release.

To participate in the chat, follow @SpudNutrition and the hashtag #FoodFacts on Twitter.

The Alliance for Potato Research and Education works to turn scientific research into evidence-based policy and education initiatives that recognize the healthfulness of potatoes.
