The U.S. Department of Agriculture has restricted three produce businesses for failing to pay reparation awards issued under the Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act.
The businesses are:
- Germantown YK Group LLC, Germantown, Md., for failing to pay $7,967 to a Maryland seller. The responsibly connected individual is Eunho Paul Choe.
- Chava Produce Inc., Lake Forest, Ill., for failing to pay $87,351 to a Texas seller. The responsibly connected individual is Gustavo Rosales.
- RDM International Inc., Vernon, Calif., for failing to pay $52,252 to a Michigan seller. The responsibly connected individual is Robert Moore.
The USDA announced that Agri Sales Inc., Wadsworth, Ill., has satisfied a reparation order and can now operate in the produce industry. Michael Hughes, the responsibly connected individual listed, can work in the industry.
The USDA also announced it had found Marta Diaz Chidid responsibly connected to Puerto Nuevo Cold Storage Inc., San Juan, Puerto Rico.
Puerto Nuevo Cold Storage failed to pay a $123,000 reparation order to a Florida seller. Diaz Chidid and Leonel L. Diaz Jr. challenged their responsibly connected status, and Leonel Diaz Jr. was found not responsibly connected. Marta Diaz Chidid was, however, and cannot work in the industry for a year.
