The U.S. Department of Agriculture has imposed sanctions on four produce businesses for failure to pay Perishable Agricultural Commodities Act reparation awards.
The following businesses and individuals are currently restricted from operating in the produce industry:
- World Best Tropical LLC, Doral, Fla., for failing to pay a $14,720 award in favor of a Florida seller. Marcos Rodas Woo was listed as a member of the business.
- Best Buy Foodservice Inc., Paterson, N.J., for failing to pay a $19,472 award in favor of a Wisconsin seller. Steven Sfugaras was listed as the officer, director and major stockholder of the business.
- David Jackson, doing business as Enterprise Farm, Whately, Mass., for failing to pay a $17,124 award in favor of a Pennsylvania seller. David Jackson was listed as the sole proprietor of the business.
- Shatav LLC, Brooklyn, N.Y., for failing to pay a $6,895 award in favor of an Ohio seller. Jacqueline Hyatt was listed as a member of the business.
