Washington Apple Education Foundation golfers, Wenatchee, raised $100,000 this summer from two golf tournaments.
The first tournament took place at the Wenatchee Golf and Country Club on June 5; the second tournament was on July 19 at the Apple Tree Golf Course in Yakima, Wash., according to a news release.
The money raised is for scholarship and educational programs benefiting tree fruit industry families and students.
“Industry support makes my job easier each year,” said Jim Wade Wenatchee tournament chairman in the release. “We are appreciative of the tournament’s loyal following and the ongoing commitment WAEF donors demonstrate to the students benefitting from the scholarship funds raised.”
Course contests at the Wenatchee Golf and Country Club tournament were sponsored by Bayer CropScience and ProNatural presented the Apple Tree tournament course contests, according to the release.
