Western Growers and C.H. Robinson plan to jointly sponsor an online seminar to help shippers and receivers understand government regulations and transportation trends expected to impact the delivery of fresh produce this year.
Set for 10 a.m. Pacific time on Feb. 19, the 90-minute seminar is free. Registration is required at http://tinyurl.com/WG-transportation.
Topics on the agenda include factors influencing transportation capacity for fresh produce loads and anticipated rates for the remainder of 2013, according to a news release from the sponsors.
Speakers are also scheduled to give an update on the California Air Resources Board regulations for refrigeration units. The new rules went into effect for shippers and receivers Jan. 1 and apply to all trucks operating in California, even if they are not stopping in the state.
Matt McInerney, executive vice president of Western Growers, is scheduled to moderate the seminar. Speakers include Gary York, general manager at C.H. Robinson’s Monterey, Calif., location, and Jason Craig, manager of government affairs for C.H. Robinson, Eden Prairie, Minn.
