Wisconsin Spudmobile hits the roadThe RV turned mobile potato education unit makes its debut at Farm Technology Days Aug. 12-14 in Stevens Point, Wis.

A press conference and ribbon cutting ceremony will be Aug. 13 at the association’s booth, according to a news release.

“This is a traveling billboard that is actually functional,” association director of promotions Dana Rady said in the release. “It contains eight exhibits that will educate visitors about the quality work Wisconsin growers do, including how they conserve Mother Nature’s resources, utilize the most up-to-date technologies and provide quality and affordable food for families on a daily basis.”

The Spudmobile’s exhibits take visitors on a journey from the farmers’ fields to dinner plates. Visitors will learn about the potato varieties produced in Wisconsin and where they are grown. The Spudmobile also features an interactive table that kids can play games on as they learn about the Wisconsin potato and vegetable industry.

The Spudmobile will be visiting retail stores, county and state fairs, schools and sporting events. Growers will be at some events to interact with people.
